I am a 30 year old professional working in the wonderful world of technology.  I have worked in Technology full time for approximately 9 years in positions ranging from user support to planning the technological direction for companies.  Currently I am employed by a Venture Capital firm in the Boston area.  If you really want to know where I work you can either ask me or piece it together yourself, shouldn’t be too hard.

I think my official title is Senior Network Analyst, but in reality if it needs to get done, I do it.  This is also true of my co-workers in the department and not an uncommon practice in small companies as many people can attest to.  I do not proclaim to be an expert in any one area.  Instead I think of myself as a generalist who focuses on a few main areas, does that make sense?  This means that I will not be focusing on just one area of technology to write about.  If I find it interesting, I will write about it.  I will also take requests, so if you want to get my take on a specific topic, just let me know.

I am starting this blog for a few reasons.  First I think writing about a topic will help me understand it better by getting my facts straight before posting.  Second, I hope it will improve my writing skills.  Not that my writing is awful, but it can certainly stand to improve.  Third, it will give my friends and colleagues a central point of contact to see what I am working on or thinking about as currently the distribution of this data is hit or miss.  Lastly, if anyone reads this, it will allow me to meet new people and be challenged in my thoughts and ideas.  So bring it on!
